We would love for you to join us for the special exhibition SIMMER at MAMA.

When: Saturday, 8 January 2022 at 11am (first haha recipe) and Saturday , 15 January, 2022 at 11am (second haha recipe)

Where: Paul Ramsay Galleries, ANZ Zauner Grand Foyer, MAMA

What: SIMMER is a collaborative project between artists, local cooks, chefs and family members, centred on the experiences of preparing and sharing food. This major new original exhibition considers how food can bring us together, break down barriers and open us up to new experiences. The exhibition will invite the community to try new recipes each week and share their own experiences of food and culture.

We will provide cooking demonstrations that introduce a selected recipe for you to make at home. We will share the key steps and processes, and advice about where to obtain specialist ingredients and produce locally. This program invites you to try new recipes, celebrate the relationship between food and culture and food’s enduring ability to bring people together.

Participants will receive a goodie bag containing a printed recipe card, selected ingredients, and a list of local vendors. We will present two different recipes over two weeks.

Free event, places are limited.
Bookings essential.

Following the presentation each Saturday morning, the foyer installation will remain in place, until it changes over ready for the following week’s recipe.

Exhibiting artists: Aruna Gandhi, EJ Son, Eva Aguila, Gabriel Sanchez, haha vegan, Inuuywa Mama, Itsuo Kobayashi, Marites Roque Neal, Nabilah Nordin, Navi Kaur and Rice Brewing Sisters Club.
